Magnesium Machining Benefits

2.Magnesium has good toughness and strong shock absorption. It is very suitable for parts that are subject to impact—wheels; magnesium alloys have high damping capacity and are ideal materials for avoiding fatigue caused by vibration and noise.
3.Magnesium alloy has low heat capacity, fast solidification speed and good die casting performance. Due to the low heat capacity of the magnesium alloy, the production efficiency is 40% to 50% higher than that of the same aluminum alloy casting, and the casting size is more stable, the precision is higher, and the surface finish is better.

Magnesium Grade
Magnesium AZ31 – An alloy with aluminum and zinc, magnesium AZ31 is up to 35 percent lighter than aluminum with the equivalent strength. However, this material is typically more expensive and is often used for aircraft components. While the material is easy to machine, it has flammable properties. Due to its light weight and high strength capabilities, it’s also often used for laptop cases, power tools, camera bodies and other uses around the house.
Magnesium AZ31 is often used for aircraft components in which light weight and high strength are most desirable, and can also be found in the housings for power tools, laptop cases and camera bodies.
